Share the moments that you want your photographer to capture. It can be the littlest moments or the biggest. For example:
Pictures of your parents’ faces during the ceremony or toasts
You two waving to your on-shore guests from the boat ride
Candid captures of you two holding hands or putting a hand on the other’s shoulder throughout the day
Emily - you mentioned wanting to prioritize group photos of you two + your friends. Make this known!! Ask + discuss how this can be prioritized + if the photographer has any input/suggestions.
-
Ask how the photographer prioritizes what to shoot when there are so many moving pieces going on.
-
While not necessary, having a second photographer on-site is great for capturing the same moment from two different perspectives, or capturing two simultaneous occurrences. For example:
Same moment from two different perspectives.
1st photographer: Captures moment (from behind) of Emily + her parents walking into the tent, about to go down the aisle.
2nd photographer: Captures moment (from where officiant is standing) of Emily + parents walking into the tent, abut to go down the aisle.
Two different simultaneous occurrences.
1st photographer: Captures intimate moments of you two on The Woodmark boat ride together (the photographer would be a passenger, too).
2nd photographer: Captures candid interactions between guests during cocktail hour while you two are off on the boat.
