Repurposing wedding flowers from your ceremony to your dinner reception space is a practical way to enhance the overall aesthetic of your event, while also promoting sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Our favorite application that provides our couples the biggest bang for their buck is repurposing floral arrangements from the wedding ceremony aisle as centerpieces for the reception tables. Other benefits from this approach:
Maximizing Resources
Repurposing floral arrangements allows you to make the most out of your investment. Wedding flowers are often beautifully arranged and can be quite costly. By using them in multiple settings, you're maximizing the value you get from your floral budget.
Environmental Sustainability
Weddings can generate a significant amount of waste, especially when it comes to flowers that are discarded after a single use. Repurposing these flowers reduces waste and promotes eco-friendliness, making your wedding more environmentally responsible.
Consistent Theme and Aesthetics
Using the same floral arrangements from the ceremony aisle as reception centerpieces ensures a consistent theme and aesthetic throughout the venue. This uniformity enhances the visual appeal of the wedding, creating a cohesive atmosphere that's pleasing to the eye.
Time and Effort Savings
Repurposing flowers saves time and effort for both you and the florist. There's no need to design separate arrangements for the ceremony and reception, streamlining the planning process and allowing you to focus on other important aspects of your wedding day.
Guest Experience
Guests will appreciate the seamless transition from the ceremony to the reception, where they'll find familiar floral elements beautifully displayed on their tables. This continuity enhances the overall guest experience, making them feel more connected to the event's flow and design.
Budget-Friendly Option
Weddings can be expensive, and finding ways to cut costs without compromising on quality is essential. Repurposing flowers provides an elegant solution to stay within budget while still achieving a stunning and sophisticated look for both the ceremony and reception. Repurposing flowers from your ceremony decor can end up saving you hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Supporting Local Businesses
By reusing floral arrangements, you're supporting local florists and encouraging sustainable practices within the wedding industry. This support can have a positive impact on the community and the businesses involved.
Case study
One of our 2023 couples getting married at Kiana Lodge wanted to have their chuppah structure adorned with flowers, flowers decorating the sides of their ceremony aisle, greenery hanging from the cafe lights in the tall Garden Atrium, as well as floral centerpieces on all of their dinner reception tables. They opted to use floral arrangements to line their ceremony aisle with the intention that these would later be placed in the center of the round tables during dinner time. By deciding this early on in the planning process, they were able to properly communicate with their florist, Goldenrod Floral Design, that they wanted to ensure the arrangements were tall enough to make an impact while lining the aisle, but not so tall as to obstruct guests’ views of one another when conversing across the table.
Their floral repurposing even went a step further when the larger floral arrangements at the base of the chuppah poles were moved into the reception space, too. Since these fuller arrangements would be too tall to set on top of the reception tables, we opted to place the two on either end of the long, central head table. Doing so made it look like the couple invested way more on florals than they actually did, and had a tremendous visual impact.
