Seattle Seahawk Tyler Lockett became engaged to his girlfriend, Lauren Jackson, after surprising her with his romantic marriage proposal, organized and set up by Pacific Engagements Wedding Planning and Design at Kerry Park in Seattle and photographed by Kerry Jeanne Photography.
Tyler had pre-arranged to fly both his and Lauren’s families into Seattle for the proposal, unbeknownst to Lauren. While Tyler and Lauren were dining together overlooking the sunset on Lake Union, their families were simultaneously arriving at Kerry Park to await the big moment. Both mothers and other relatives situated themselves on the park benches while vendors bustled around them to get the proposal set up ready-to-go in time. A to Z Marquee’s larger-than-life light-up marquee lights spelling out “WILL YOU MARRY ME” were turned on at dusk and adorned by a lush floral arrangement, created by Blue Poppy Floral, and flickering candlelight. Right before Tyler and Lauren’s ascent up the Kerry Park stairs, Pacific Engagements sprinkled the brick walkway with cream and peach rose petals to make the set up complete for their arrival.
Upon entering the park, Tyler paid no attention to the glowing set up and instead continued to divert Lauren’s attention towards the sparkling Seattle skyline instead. Although when they walked past the bench populated by their family members, Lauren was in such surprise and shock about seeing them all there that she didn’t even notice that Tyler had dropped down to his knee and had pulled out a ring box. The whole family was whooping and cheering when Lauren said yes, and flooded both of them with congratulatory hugs and praise.
And as if the proposal couldn’t get any dreamier, it did. Live painter, Paige Lindsey Design, was stationed at Kerry Park for the entire evening documenting the whole event with her paintbrushes and watercolors. Lauren and Tyler were given this custom watercolor painting as a memento of their never-to-be-forgotten evening.
