When it comes to discussing inclement weather affecting outdoor Seattle weddings, most think of rain as the culprit. In recent years, however, the Pacific Northwest has experienced an increase in local wildfires, leading to thick smoke engulfing the region. This can pose health risks to you and your guests, making it essential to have a backup plan to move the festivities completely indoors if needed. Additionally, Seattle's summer months have been warming up more and more, increasing the likelihood that there may be intense heat and sun exposure making guests uncomfortable if they do not have adequate shade cover. A well-thought-out contingency plan can help you address these challenges and ensure the comfort and safety of your loved ones.

In the heart of April, Sarah and Garry married at Walnut Creek’s Ruth Bancroft Gardens, an immaculately landscaped property planted with numerous species of cacti, succulents, and drought-tolerant plants from all around the world.
The gravel garden path leading towards Ruth’s Folly was lined with wooden bentwood chairs, arranged meticulously to follow the evolving curves of the adjacent garden beds. Guests selected their seats in the asymmetrical rows and eagerly awaited the ceremony’s beginning.
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued in the sun-dappled shade of Ruth Bancroft Gardens’ Eucalyptus Grove. Guests were presented with a delectable, organic, farm-to-table, family-style dinner during the al fresco dinner reception.

In the picturesque setting of The Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle, the lush grass lawn served as the perfect canvas for the outdoor wedding ceremony. The honey wood chairs, with their natural warm tones, were arranged in an orchestra style, gently curved towards the ceremony front, ensuring that every guest had an unobstructed view of the proceedings.
The outdoor courtyard reception welcomed guests with a sense of warmth and elegance. Rectangular reception tables and high cocktail tables were strategically placed, providing spaces for guests to gather and celebrate. Adorned with all-white table settings, the tables’ focal points were the vibrant, colorful centerpieces. Mustard, cream, and pink hues added the essence of spring and romanticism.
The combination of the natural wood tones from the chairs with the flowers’ warm mustard and ivory hues created a visually stunning, fresh, and harmonious palette. The result was a celebration that felt relaxed and undeniably romantic, making everyone who attended forget that they were in Seattle, and instead felt as if they were dining in a European villa.
